Obama’s chickens coming home to roost

  • Follow Letters

It was just a matter of time until the American people got their chance, with the Massachusetts senatorial election, to punish the real agenda of President Obama. He campaigned as an agent of change, read a teleprompter well and was given kid-glove treatment by a loving state-run media led by The New York Times.

But the real Obama was a radical who sat in the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years but claimed he never heard his anti-U.S. sermons. Obama's the man who hung around with '60s radicals and put avowed communists on his staff. Show me who your friends are, and I'll know who you are!

Was it any wonder that his health-care bill could have been written by his friend Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez? It's a huge power grab of one-sixth of the American economy. Even the bluest of the blue states, Massachusetts, couldn't stomach that. I believe that, unlike Bill Clinton, President Obama is an ideologue who will not substantially change his ways. America is a center-right country, not a leftist banana republic.

The American people will have to wait until 2012 to correct the obvious mistake they made in 2008. Just beware the so-called mainstream media - they will do everything they can to hide the true Obama agenda. Their candidate is running things, and they can't let him fail. If he fails, they fail! God help us all.

Mr Perry, you sir are a great american! Your letter was spot on, and unless the lamestream media takes the blinders off, they will look back on this time, and wonder how it was that they could have been so wrong, because the republicans will have both houses of congress. My guess is that the president and the left, and the media will still be telling us that we just don't "Get it".

Federalist - They see the writing on the wall. I believe they are secretly embracing the inevitable so they have somebody else to blame. It's obvious this social experiment has backfired. Hillary is standing on the sidelines, keeping very quiet, even about Iran. She will contend for the 2012 nomination an "I will restore democrat power" on Capitol Hill will be a great rally cry. Obama and his supporters have been played like chumps.

Dennis Perry Sr. is full of

Dennis Perry Sr. is full of himself. I guess these arrogant little people think that they know more about running the Government than President Obama and the Democrat congress. The White House and the Democrat controlled Congress are not receiving any corporation or input from the Republican party of NO. The economy grew at nearly 6% in the last quarter of 2009. The Obama economic miracle is beginning to show steady progress. Wall street is booming. Most of the banks have repaid their TARP loans, with interest, plus the US Treasury made a healthy profit from the bank stock own by the Goverment, about $48 billion dollars. The President did all of this in less than one year. Dennis Perry spew typical, standard Republican "talking points." Your anti Obama rant is not credible. Republicans never provide any evidences to back up their wild accusations and outrageous charges. The republicans don't have a plan, so they spend all of their time criticising, condemning and denouncing all of the Democrat plans. Dennis Perry and other people who think like him have a visceral haterd of President Obama that stem from some other shortcoming, probably some emotional, psychological or intellectual deficiency. Apparently Dennis Perry has been relegated to the "belief system." In the world of belief he live in, evidences is not required.

Venezuelan President Hugo

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavas is a generous man. Citgo, the Venezuelan oil company sell heating oil to poor people and seniors in the Northern and North-eastern states of the U.S. for half price. He has been providing this services for more than ten years. President Chavas do all of this despite the fact that Bush/Cheney sent the CIA into Venezuela and attmpting to overthrow him. Chavas called for new elections and won 79% of the votes. Yet, the Bush/Cheney Republicans who perpetrated a coup d'etat in Florida in 2000, call Chavas a "Dictator." President Hugo Chavas has made his feelings about America perfectly clear, He said that he didn't have a problem with America, he has a problem with the Bush/Cheney, right wing, neo-con Republicans.

JoeWilie, almost anybody

JoeWilie, almost anybody knows more about running the government than Obama! Name one accomplishment he achived in his life that demonstates any ability at leadership....Obama's book dreams, Bill Ayers said he wrote it and there are many parallels with other things Ayers wrote...Obama's community organization in Chicago? The area was worse when Obama and Rezko were finished with than when Obama started! Obama's tenure in Chicago as a legislator? Obama got Michelle a 6 figure salary and made sure infants born alive during abortions died!..Obama in the Senate? Obama ran for president the whole time and was constantly late for meetings! Anybody with executive experiance can run the government better than Obama. Obama can't even get his staff together on how many jobs were saved or created for heaven sakes..Axlerod says one thing, Jerret says another and Gibson a third..It is like watching Cheech and Chong do a press conferance..Obama's failures are getting longer every day from Iran, closing Gitmo, the stimulas package, Health care reform, now on to trying the Terrorist in New York..I would laugh at the ineptitude except over 10 % of Americans are unemplyed and the number is growing daily and the economy is faltering..

JOEWILLIE, thanks for the post. I never laughed so hard. If you are representative of the typical Odumba supporter, he and his fellow idiot Dems will be out of office soon. Of course, recent elections and the polls already show that. Wake up, JW, the Democratic Party that you idolize so is the same one that was in power while your race was being denied basic human rights. George Wallace and Lester Maddox...both Dems. Confederate flag on the Georgia and Mississippi state flags...both put there by Dems. Confederate battle flag flying above the SC House...put there by Dems and when Ernest Hollings, a Democrat, was governor. It's still there. Yeah, those Dems are real friends of AA's.

Obama has no known experience

Obama has no known experience slopping hogs, but he does appear to have a gift for pushing the tallest ones away from the trough to give the little pigs a chance. A president who sees NASA for what it is (a boondoggle incapable even or reenacting the 1960's) and recognizes the efficiency of private industry doesn't sound like any socialist I ever heard of. The socialists I'm more familiar with are the ones who assume operation of a public service, assign it to a private company with less-experienced personnel, higher salaries, greater overhead and a ten percent profit--all in the interest of economy. Yeah, right.

JoeWillie, why does Obama and

JoeWillie, why does Obama and his administration want to tax those banks that paid back the bail outs? How come Freddie and Fannie Mac aren't being pushed to pay back their bail out? Why are they exempt from this new "bank tax"? How come there's no call for taxes on the "obscene profits" made by the Fed? Your accusation that the Republicans have no plan falls limp. It only proves you depend on "talking points" and name calling - you're a good Alinsky-bot. As for your support of Chavez....well that speaks volumes doesn't it?

Socialism refers to the

Socialism refers to the various theories of economic organization advocating public or direct worker ownership and administration of the means of production and allocation of resources, and a society characterized by equal access to resources for all individuals with a method of compensation based on the amount of labor expended.

Most socialists share the view that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital and derives its wealth through exploitation, creates an unequal society, does not provide equal opportunities for everyone to maximize their potential. Capitalism does not utilize technology and resources to their maximum potential nor in the interests of the public.

I am not a Socialist, much less a Progressive Marxist like Obama.

Thanks, Bet, but I think mine

Thanks, Bet, but I think mine is more accurate and better defines what Georgians have been experiencing since before anybody ever heard of Obama. My definition is also original. If you want to apply it, start with natural gas. Next, check out DOT and discover why Georgia dropped the ball on light rail. Republicans just can't get enough of this stuff. Thanks to them, the future of our Georgia will look more and more like that other, uh, soviet one, before Gorbachev.

I agree, Bet. Our economy

I agree, Bet. Our economy will not be secure until there is no such thing as a bank (particularly an "investment" bank) or corporation that is too big to fail. Capitalism, like health insurance, works great except when it doesn't. When government returns to the business of protecting us from ourselves, supply and demand will once again determine real values. If this recession has taught me one lesson, it's that any price tag on anything is now just a suggestion. Let the haggling begin. This country will turn around quicker than many people think.

Obama's chickens are coming

Obama's chickens are coming home to roost, but not for the ridiculous reasons that right-wing reactionaries posit. Barack Obama is an Establishment politician just like Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Joe Biden, Chris Dodd, David Obey, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, John McCain, Joe Lieberman, and darn near every other Republican and Democrat you can name. They are beholden to the status quo, elite, powers that be. Obama bailed out Wall Street investment banks not the average, hurting American little guy.

Like Bush, Obama is a servant of the super-rich, of corporations, and of the military-industrial complex which has become the prime force behind the faltering American economy. Maybe Ron Paul possesses personal integrity. Maybe Dennis Kucinich possesses personal integrity. Few other mainstream politicians do from either major political party.

Obama will fail as a Wartime President because America will fail to prevail in its military misadventures. The trillions wasted on unnecessary, unwinnable foreign wars is bound to spill over into the economy and depress Americans' standard of living for decades to come. Every adult American is a failure for allowing this sorry state of affairs to come to exist and for allowing it to persist.

JoeWillie The republican

JoeWillie The republican party doesn't have to cooperate for Obama to be successful. His party is in FULL control of the House and the Senate. They don't need one single republican vote to "do their stuff". Even with that majority, he still can't do anything because he is so radical. Also, if you love Chavez so much, I'm sure he can arrange for living quarters for you in Venzuela. From your posts, you'll find things quite peachy down there.

"I guess these arrogant

"I guess these arrogant little people think that they know more about running the Government than President Obama and the Democrat congress." That is EXACTLY the attitude of the president and this congress - that they know all the answers, that they know what is best, and they are in a position of power and no one can "fix" that. Apparently they and this poster have forgotten that this government was founded to be one of, for, and BY the people. THEY are there to serve us but they have it backwards and want to enslave us and I do not use that term "enslave" lightly. The president himself has already taken over the automobile industry - exactly WHAT does he know about running ANY operation? He caused the CEO of GM to be replaced and it is now basically a government run operation. The banks are another story and the latest "budget" aka spending madness will bankrupt the country and if we don't become a ward of China, several generations of our children will be burdened with unfathomable debt just by being born. So yes WE THE PEOPLE DO know how to run the government better than those who now sit in the seats of the scornful and give unrighteous counsel. The lies and deceit just keep on coming and they still insist on trying to ram through a bill that most of them have probably never read - a bill that will completely take over our lives. They are there to uphold that forgotten instrument, the U S Constitution and continue to assault it. Obama's plan to try those accused of acts of war against our country in civilian courts is another reckless move that will further expose all our security to the world...It's time to clean out the halls of Washington and limit the terms of those who settle in there believing that those seats belong to them rather than to we the people.

Chillen, you are not exactly

Chillen, you are not exactly correct in your assessment that the Democrats can do whatever they want - some things require a 2/3 vote - that's the reason that they were so upset when the smart people of Massachusetts elected a Republican senator to take the seat to which Ted Kennedy's body had grown. Also there is the rule regarding filibuster and the Democrats can now not cut off that way of stalling. It's sad that Republicans have been made to bow and scrape at the feet of the disdainful Obama but at least some of them are beginning to awake from their slumber and realize that his attempt at telling people where to go, what to do with their own money is WAY over the line.

Yes, but until Massachusetts

Yes, but until Massachusetts they have had their 60 seat, filibuster-proof majority - it has been an unstoppable train. Lets just hope that the current 59 seat majority dwindles down and down and is replaced by fiscal conservatives who believe in our constitution and capitalism. I heard on the news today that even the Illinois seat Burris filled is in jeopardy in November.
