They do such a great job trying to bring President Trump and Republicans to heel when there’s right-wing violence.
So why do Democrats and the left-wing “mainstream” media have such a blind spot when it comes to repeated acts of left-wing violence?
Where are the denunciations of it? There are precious few calls for denouncing.
Donald Trump was right, if inartful and untimely: There’s violence on multiple sides.
But isn’t it interesting that it’s primarily the left-wing “antifa” and anarchists who wear facial coverings to their appointed riotous rounds? What are they hiding, other than their identities?
When conservatives scheduled an anti-Marxist rally for Berkeley last Sunday, they wisely canceled it out of fear for their safety. But thousands of anti-Trump counter-protesters did show up – and were ironically set upon by violent, black-clad, face-covered far-left “antifa” and anarchists out to beat Trump supporters.
The antifa crowd has embraced a “punch a Nazi” approach to greeting people in public. Of course, these young fascists are the ones who take it upon themselves to decide exactly who is a “Nazi.”
After the bloody Berkeley bash, and some 14 arrests, some on the left wrung their hands about how this would make liberals look.
Another violent display, the Los Angeles Times wrote, served to “underscore Berkeley’s growing reputation for violent reaction by the far left.
“Some in Berkeley worried that Sunday’s chaos, captured on video and quickly disseminated through social media, would provide unwanted ammunition to Trump and his supporters.”
“We can’t keep producing this audio-visual propaganda,” the newspaper quoted a counterprotester who lamented the fights. “It is recruiting for the right.”
Really? That’s the concern? Well-funded and armed far-left thugs repeatedly descend upon peaceful events – usually conservative ones – and they’re worried how it looks for liberals? How about how it feels for conservatives – or the damage it’s doing to our republic and our constitutional right to free speech?
The Times and counterprotesters’ worry is about how this makes liberalism look?
Here’s a thought: Why not actually care about, and report on, who these thugs are, what they want, who’s bankrolling them and what they’re doing to our free society?
How about a little perspective here? Quit bellyaching about President Trump’s belated denouncement of right-wing groups and pay some attention to the left-wing anarchists and fascists in our midst.
And, oh by the way, national media, while you’re at it, make an effort to be fair: Demand that every Democrat politician in America denounce the left-wing violence, just like you’ve required it of conservatives and right-wing violence. If those far-left liberal goons who attacked on Sunday in Berkeley had been, say, Trump supporters – well, the wailing and gnashing of teeth by the media would be audible without your cable service.
Isn’t violence violence, no matter your political bent?
