Who's being extreme?

Principled conservatism yet again draws hair-trigger scorn

  • Follow Editorials

Here, apparently, is the world according to Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo:

If you want to protect the life of an unborn child, you’re “extreme.”

If you believe in protecting yourself with a gun you legally own, you’re “extreme.”

If you support traditional marriage between a man and a woman, you’re ‘“extreme.”

And he doesn’t want you in his state.

“Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are,” the governor blustered last week.

Is Cuomo trying to outlaw conservatism?

Others who evidently want conservatives wiped off the map are content with trying to bully it away. In San Francisco, actress Maria Conchita Alonso fled the production of a play she was starring in after threats of boycotts and protests spewed forth – because of her support for a Republican gubernatorial candidate who is a Tea Partier and a founder of a Minuteman border-patrol chapter.

Cuomo’s ranting and a potential mob’s hair-trigger hysteria exposes who’s really acting “extreme” here.

Yet again, the left preaches tolerance and freedom of belief only if you plan on buying into liberal dogma.

So, shutting down the
Unpublished

So, shutting down the government and costing it 24 billion dollars isn't extreme? Opposing gay marriage and nominating a philanderer for President isn't hypocrisy? The Tea Party is extreme. The Constitution guarantees equal rights to all Americans, and you have no right to impose your moral views on others. Even God says so. It is between them and God, and everyone else should mind their own business. Jesus said it well, “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye." Tea Partiers will soon be relegated to history, another failed extreme conservative idea.

"Conservatism" is anything
Unpublished

"Conservatism" is anything but that.... When this term and it's different variations is applied to the U.S. political arena it is misleading. Some of the more conservative republicans have double standards and it's sickening. They don't want to give a poor person a dollar, but give million/billionaires handouts left and right. It's already been proven that those supposed job creators weren't creating jobs (especially not in THIS country) but just raised their own salaries.

Yes, they DO want to outlaw

Yes, they DO want to outlaw conservatism!! I've been saying this for a very long time that the left are the MOST intolerant people you will ever meet!! Their claim of being tolerant, is nothing but a disguise to confuse the people!! It's been a hoax the entire time!! Then, we see their TRUE feelings every now and then, when idiots like Cuomo open their mouths!!

Then he has to scale back his comments somewhat because someone calls him and says "Dude, you shouldn't have said that, YET!!! Now isn't quite the time, we've got a little ways to go before we can tell the truth of our agenda." Then Cuomo goes into damage control mode, using the old "taken out of context". No it was NOT!!! He said EXACTLY what he feels, deep in his heart!!

I honestly believe that conservatives SHOULD completely move out of liberal States like NY, California, Colorado, Michigan, Oregon and moved into conservative states. Let the liberals run wild in those states for about 20 years and completely RUIN those states, which is exactly what would happen!! All the while, we sit in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and LAUGH are their states, while all the jobs keep coming our way!!

We could still be brothers and fight for one another. Brother's don't have to share the same bedroom. We could live beside one another, but if anyone outside the family attacked, we could ban together. That's what brothers do!! But they do NOT have to live together!!! It's time to give these liberals EXACTLY what they deserve!! Let them ruin themselves!!!

Ok, so Cuomo isn't allowed

Ok, so Cuomo isn't allowed his right to free speech?

He has EVERY right to say that.

And people have the right to disagree with him.

However, New York is known for being a pretty liberal state, so I guess I can see why he thinks that.

But if someone disagrees with what he says, then all they have to do is not go to New York. Somehow, I think that New York will survive.

Perhaps the AC should be

Perhaps the AC should be aware that Maria Conchita Alonso has said that she didn't know what Tim's views were on immigration when she did the ad. In short, she is now sorry that she did the ad. But I watched the ad, it was pretty funny, especially when she commented on a certain part of his anatomy.

Latinos don't much like Latinos that support anti-immigration candidates, that's the way it rolls in California. That isn't ever going to change, either.

And, by the way, the play was "that play" written by Eve Ensler, about certain monologues...

San Franciscans are pretty vocal about things they don't like, that's the way SF rolls, too.

Proof

I wonder what proof there is that California Assemblyman Tim Donnelly supports anti immigration. None, of course, but that doesn't keep the left from repeating lies. Or perhaps they are just ignorant of the facts.

Heard it said a lot on radio coming back from Atlanta

on Tuesday he other day.

The Yankees move out in droves and down here, because they hate the government, taxes, and etc..

Then they turn around an vote in the same manure they ran from to feel at home.

(Jokingly said)

The South doesn't need to worry about its Southern borders as much as it needs to worry about it Northern ones.

Who is it that said "Extremism in the pursuit of liberty is no vice!"? The Constitution gives the right to marry to ALL people, and that has been upheld by the Supreme Court, in Loving v. Virginia. Protecting yourself...from whom? a guy texting in a movie theater...of the children murdered at Sandy Hook? I'm sure that Gabby Giffords was attacking someone when she was shot.

justthefacts - bagels

Get with the South
Think HOT just rolling out of the frier
Krispy Kream Glazed donuts

Having worked NYC, Newark, Hoboken, Nutley, Metro Station, etc... doing a lot doing various Security gigs, despite morning meetings loaded with those sinkers, I never really got into Bagels.

Short Quick Story
Before NYC got its 1st Krispy Kreame location, (1997?) in PENN Station by the stairs near Madison SQ Garden exit)

I was doing a Security Gig for a company called EarthWeb on 3 Ave.
The Clients Staff & I got into a heated discussion about the best Donuts vs. Best Bagels. The clients were hot under the collar at me for refusing to acknowledge bagels were better. I had 4 dozen HOT Krispy Kreame Glazed brought in for the next morning meeting from Atlanta. It settled the discussion. Since I was on a reimbursed expense account and staying at the Hilton in Newark to cut costs already, the IT Mangers & Staff enjoyed the last 2 weeks of my consulting assignment. HOWEVER, ever try to ride the Sub carrying 4 dozen HOT Krispy Kreame Glazed, the fragrance quickly has people asking what smells so good. The follow up batches were FEDX overnight early morning deliver.

Well conservatives can refuse

Well conservatives can refuse to support NY tourism, perhaps a recall vote for NY. This is great-Rep can demagogue this issue of intolerance by Dems, call Senate Dems the party of NO bringing up Rep Bills, etc. Paint Dems as intolerant, party of NO, gosh what goes around comes around doesn't it.

Cumo just said out loud is what...

Cumo just said out loud is what most of the bigotted yankee politicians think or say among themselves. They think like Lewis Grizzard said about one time when he met a yankee and after finding that Lewis was from the South asked, " Do youse guys read down there?"

justthefacts, um, perhaps you should watch the video he made. I don't know why you would think that it's a lie.

His anti-immigration views are well-known, and he will get lots of support from the whites in California- however, whites are now in the minority, so I don't know if he'll be successful.

Personally, I'd vote for him.
