A nasty tolerance for intolerance

MSNBC shows hypocrisy in its foot-dragging on disciplining hateful host

  • Follow Editorials

It apparently took nearly three weeks for the folks at MSNBC to get a memo back from their Standards and Practices Department. If they have one.

Oddly, they thought actor Alec Baldwin’s gay slur was an immediate firing offense and canceled his show in its infancy, but thought that an infinitely more vile and disgusting attack on a conservative woman was merely cause for pause.

MSNBC host Martin Bashir suggested in a Nov. 15 broadcast that someone urinate or defecate in Sarah Palin’s mouth for having said that shackling Americans in crushing debt is akin to slavery. He noted that such punishments as he was suggesting for Palin had been done to slaves, and said “if anyone truly qualified for a (similar) dose of discipline ... then she would be the outstanding candidate.”

Sadly enough, this sort of contemptible, uber-intolerant rhetoric has been flowing like the Nile from radical liberals such as those at far-left (and therefore little-watched) MSNBC. From the failed and vitriolic Keith Olbermann to the alarmingly sexist Ed Schultz to the odd utterings of Chris Matthews and now Martin Bashir, the network has a rather checkered track record for venom, hatred and hostility toward conservatives, especially female conservatives.

It speaks volumes about the network’s far-left hypocrisy, too, that it took almost three weeks to toss Bashir out on his stump this week. Apparently it was a difficult choice to boot Bashir for his premeditated, thought-out repugnant attack on Sarah Palin – whereas, again, an unscripted gay slur uttered in anger at a photographer got Alec Baldwin quickly suspended and his show summarily canceled.

The left has been so brainwashed that, while it defends certain people reflexively, it has a hard time feeling that any invective, affront or insult aimed at a conservative could ever be over-the-top offensive.

You are ultimately judged by the company you keep. MSNBC has a chronic attachment to the Martin Bashirs of the far left – and has a most difficult time divorcing itself from them.

A few years ago, those same liberals were decrying unspecified conservative rhetoric and – wrongly – blaming it for the shooting of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. Look who’s really spewing the malicious toxins: the sanctimonious left.

There’s a difference between debating issues vigorously and the kinds of ad hominem personal attacks like Bashir’s, Schultz’s and others’. Be careful what you put in your head and teach your children. People such as Martin Bashir are teaching their followers to hate their political opponents.

We can disagree in this country without resorting to such filthy, degrading, dehumanizing attacks.

It’s time to stop tolerating such intolerance.

Luckily, MSNBC has pitifully few viewers. Judging from this episode – and how slothfully the network responded to it – you have to wonder why it has any at all.

Any decent person will agree

Any decent person will agree that the remark made by Bashir was vile and vulgar. But decency and outrage should be a standard measure and not one that is only applied when ACES agrees with the political position of the maligned.

Let the record show that when a certain other pundit who appeared on MSNBC said that the President of the United States was a "d_ck" you dismissed it as an "honest moment." The pundit did not get fired nor did you advocate that he be dropped from the show after his suspension ended. In fact, ACES only mentioned the incident as part of a story where the focus was criticism of the president.

One must remember..

One must remember that Political Correctness (PC) is nothing more than censorship by the left. I have never heard anyone on the right saying, "You shouldn't say that because it's not politically correct or you might offend someone." unless it was said sarcastically.

The left also has amnesia in that they will say something contemptible and then later swear up and down they never said that; e.g., calling G.W. Bush and Condie Rice monkeys.

I would love for Dr Ben Carson, brain surgeon, to dissect a liberal's brain and then give us a report on how tied in knots the synapses are and how some fail to bridge the gaps in thought as designed by our Creator.

Bill Mahr called Dr. Ben Carson a drooling idiot. Dr. Carson was Chief of Pediatrics Neuro Surgery at John Hopkins and pioneered surgical techniques to separate twins joined at the head. Dr. Carson is a world class specialist in neuro surgery. Nobody is immune for the vitriolic left!

MSNBC has to keep firing

If MSNBC has to keep firing people they won't be able to find anyone to do the shows. They are near the bottom of the barrel now with some of them.

It appears Truth Matters does not actually care about truth. "host Joe Scarborough asked regular contributor Mark Halperin what he thought of the President’s demeanor . After being assured that the show was on a seven second delay, Halperin called it like he saw it, saying “I though he was kind of a dick yesterday.”

It's one thing to knowingly be vile and vulgar on the air, knowing million of people are listening, and another thing when you are told a lie that you are off the air and honestly giving your opinion to whomever asked the question and believing your opinion is just between you and the commentator.

By MSNBC's actions it shows,

Homosexuals are more protected than
White Women with Conservative Values (family, god, and etc.)

Since America is still by a vast majority is Moral and Conservative leaning. I guess than also explains the dismal ratings of MSNBC and the 300% better ratings of Fox:

MSNBC
Primetime (Mon-Sun): 645,000 Total Viewers / 190,000 Age Grp 25-54
Total Day (Mon-Sun): 401,000 Total Viewers / 124,000 Age Grp 25-54

Fox News:
Primetime (Mon-Sun): 2,011,000 total viewers/348,000 Age grp. 25-54
Total Day Mon-Sun): 1,201,000 total viewers/248,000 Age grp. 25-54

In total viewers, Fox News beats MSNBC by nearly 3-to-1.

Take any political Poll you want, the 25-54 Age Groups watch FOX.
So the Liberals are a minority (18-24)mostly students, but a Very Boisterous Minority with a Megaphone media.

The Truth

The truth is the only reason Bashir felt empowered enough to spue

his venom on air is because what is discussed among his msmbc

brethren off air makes this comment look like sunday school speech .

The truth is that these people would like to see Sarah Palin dead .

A if possible they would like to see her dead by a very painful method .

As they would like to see many people dead .

This society is headed to a very dark place , at warp speed .

Trying to find decency among
Unpublished

Trying to find decency among MSNBC or liberals in general will be a fruitless task. They simply are not decent people. They will lie, distort, denigrate, and evade anything to get their way and when they don't get their way they go off like immature children. I don't think words are going to correct the problem we have in our country, it will probably take bullets and blood.

The liberal world is so twisted. I was just on msn and there is an article today that is raking states over the coals for not accepting the Fed Medicade money. Imagine that, taking someone to task for not taking others peoples money! Only in a liberal mind could that make sense.

What you're not mentioning is that the money is money RETURNED to the states from the money that THE PEOPLE IN THE STATE PAID IN TAXES! So...you guys don't want your own money back? What kind of actions are those? Cutting off your own nose to spite someone else's face. BRILLIANT!

The major Problem with accepting Federal $$$$$

is the strings attached in getting it.

The less the feds are involved the better the ratio of Collection to Distribution.

Just having the Fed's in involved means 30+% off the top. 1/3 of every dollar.

Plus all the constant demanded Federal social political changes and strings that come with the $$$$.

Simply Put
Less Fed $$$$ = Less Fed Control

Yep, carcraft, it's taken that long to bring us back from the last time the Republicans were in control, and that much money. The Republicans damn near bankrupted this country, and they still claim that they're the ones to fix it. The money should come from every Republican in this country, those responsible for the mess we got into.

only tax Republicans, copperhead?

using the irs selectively to attack "enemies of the people"?
is that what you're proposing?
using the education system to attack those too poor to get out?
(or black, this government is racist to its core)
using selective diplomacy to risk the annihilation of Israel?
does this government really hate jews that bad?
(well, the evidence would speak yes)
taking over our health care system to increase the doctor patient ratio
and make doctors subservient to bureaucrats?
i guess racism and totalitarianism are difficult to see from the inside
liberal policies got us $17 trillion in debt
and their sanctimonious defenders simply don't know the magnitude of that number
liberals should research the economic failure of 1930's Germany
to see how the Nazi's came to power
they were "audacious" too

Gacoperhed, lets look at

Gacoperhed, lets look at some of Obama's programs and the results. the cash for clunkers did NOT work, a complete waste of cars and money. Obama's green energy programs ,LOL , billions wasted. Stimulus a promise that the unemployment rate would not reach 8% , it didn't drop below 8% until the White House cooked the books and lied. The unemployment rate is still higher than when Bush left office. Labor participation rate lowest since the 1970's. Gas prices doubled since Bush left office . Obama's economic and health card policies have stifled business hiring. In short , this economy is a complete mess!

The problem with that Copperhed is that money is needed for other things. The federal budget is already out of control and sending more money away and just raising more taxes to try to make up for it is a dead end. What your side is trying to do, while possibly well meaning, is simply not going to work, this country is going to bankrupt if we keep on and I can not imagine why you guys do not see this.

Israel has not exactly been
Unpublished

Israel has not exactly been the upstanding country....stole nuclear bomb secrets from us, killed the man who outed it, building settlements where it agreed it would not, the list can go on. We should have pulled support from them years ago. It's not a matter of hating Jews, I don't, but if they want peace, they need to wage peace, not war and do what they agreed to do. The only party that's hurting schools is the Republican Party...they cut funding, try to promote Creationism over scientific truth.
The ACA is more about bringing insurance companies back under the law of supply and demand, something economists have called for. Liberal policies did NOT bring out the deficit, fixing the broken economy that Republicans caused is what has cost, that and funding Iraq and Afghanistan, which Republicans didn't fund in the budgets. It's hilarious how Republicans have such a selective memory...the Civil War was about states rights...yeah the right to own slaves....and southerners still try to hold on to the idea that its was honorable. Their ancestors were great, Bobby Lee was great,....yeah great slave masters and traitors.

"scientific truth."

What scientific truth? Many of the "scientific truths" you speak of, are nothing but THEORIES, created by Scientists, which are MEN. Bias men who are trying to pass their OWN beliefs upon people. What you need to do is learn the difference between TRUTH and THEORY!!! Because it's obvious you have no clue what either are!!

to ymbde. I support Obama because the money "he" has spent was to fix the mess left to us by the same party you defended as they were causing the problems. Why don't YOU justify why Republicans are the ones to fix the problem when THEY created it in the first place. I'd say it was scientific truth to say that the earth is much older than 6000 years. Oh! That's right! Dinosaurs didn't exist BILLIONS of years ago. Man hasn't been here for millions of years. Nah...poppycock. You folks are still the best comedy in Augusta, bar none.
