She was the featured joke on Saturday Night Live last week. Her rollout of the federal health-care website has been a national catastrophe, stranding millions with no visible sign of insurance next year. And she took responsibility for the debacle before Congress on Wednesday.

There’s no question that Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius must go. Otherwise, what amount of failure will be deemed unacceptable?

Similar to the president who appointed her, Sebelius’ “Relax, I got this” persona is a false façade. Her fumbling of this monumental responsibility – a nation’s health – is epic and historical.

Still, while she must accept accountability, she is not the problem.

The problem is the blind, unwarranted faith in big government she and the president share.

Yep, she should go the way of the person who was in charge of the rocky roll out of Medicare Part D. Show her the same door.

I nearly cried when I saw some clips of how understanding and compassionate Republicans were when they defended the slow and botched roll out of Medicare Part D. Not so much with the ACA.

it does sound like a mutiny against incompetence

and arrogance
why else would the people working for them
not respect them enough to tell them the truth?
they all knew their emperor was not clothed
yet they let him promise and promise
and each programmer probably knew the system would not work
this is truly the end of liberalism and big government
it simply does not work, and it is now proven not to work
the normal discipline of everyday adult life
have been abandoned by this government
as every government in history has done
big government does more harm than good
just look at the education of black children
oh, and truth matters, you are truly comparing
a mountain to a molehill
have you no sense of proportion
no sense of proportion at all?

This article is on point.

This article is on point. Every liberal idea and all their social welfare programs are going to sink our great nation. We should be looking at ways to return a more limited form of government.

And why try and justify one bad healthcare plan by pointing out another? Two wrongs don't make a right! And why do liberals call it the ACA? Premiums and deductibles are skyrocketing....nothing affordable about it....unless you're mooching off the other taxpayers and getting the subsidy

This is just another example as to the lack of executive

experience on Obama and his people's parts. Good executives would know about such things as fault tree analysis and backward planning. Additionally, they would have known what questions to ask and when to ask to know the progress of the project.

Obama will not cut her loose because she is what he wants and is cut from much the same cloth as he. People must understand that Obama has put people into positions of power who are ideological soul mates. They are there to "fundamentally change America".

I do love the logic of my liberal co posters! Obama intially compared the roll out to Apple Company and glitches. But as has been pointed out often Steve Jobs Had no problem firing folks for failures. Can any one on the left not say this enrollment computer system was not a failure? Further it appears the security of the system was not as secure as originally assured. So inorder to justify this failure another government failure plaqued program is brought up! THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THIS COMPARISON IS THAT MILLIONS UP ON MILLIONS OF PEOPLE DID NOT LOSE THIER HEALTH INSURANCE WHEN MEDICARE PART D WENT INTO EFFECT AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WERE NOT REPEATEDLY LIED TO BY BUSH ABOUT IT, PERIOD.

Dems were wanting to impeach

Dems were wanting to impeach Bush for lying to Congress and Americans about WMD as a reason to justify the Iraq war. Now we have another president lying to Congress and Americans to push passing of the ACA and the govt taking over a third of the economy. Affordable is a real joke as a family of four with the silver plan making 45K would pay half of $5,400 year premium. If you make over 64K you pay all with no subsidy.

Remember Gonzales resigned

Remember Gonzales resigned for his incompetence. Now we see Dems refuse to admit incompetence, blame others, really accept no responsibility. If she accepts responsibility she should offer her resignation. The committee to see why the website failed had not a single Dem really ask any question why it failed or wanted any answers. The Dems are shameless liars that would say anything or do anything for "fundamental change" and even defend the indefensible.

Ooops Correction-the plan for

Ooops Correction-the plan for family of four with two adults and two kids is $7,794/year but the proportions of the premium is still the same. So if you make 45K/year you owe half about $3,900/year and then out of pocket cost of deductibles. How the heck is that going to work?

But the "poor performance of "someone else" can't be denied.
----------------------------------------------------

That said, this "roll out", or lack of it, is inexcusable.

But let's keep in mind, that the "computer program" was designed by "private industry", not government computer employees.

(So much for "private industry does it better").

Clinton / Sebelius

First Clinton took the fall for the Bengazi attack, NOW Sebelius is taking the fall for this very poor operating web-site. People might just stay with their current high priced plan rather than fight this seemingly un-winable fight with Obamacare.

I saw an interview with
Unpublished

I saw an interview with McAfee, a (former) designer of personal computer security and he blamed CGI.

According to McAfee, the design was a rush job done mostly in India with a lot of pressure on the program writers to meet deadlines and there was insufficient testing done when the various 'programs' were put together. (I think I've got that tale right).

------------------------------------------------------------

"CGI Federal built the federal website serving 36 states, and QSSI designed the part that verifies applicants' income and other personal details."

"Experience in similar types of projects is very important in getting federal contracts. CGI had done work in the healthcare arena, and not all of it good: Its performance on Ontario, Canada's health-care medical registry for diabetes sufferers was so poor that officials ditched the $46.2 million contract after three years of missed deadlines, the Washington Examiner reported. A spokeswoman for CGI says that both parties are bound by confidentiality agreements, but they're working on resolving the situation....

"Either way, it's clear that the site itself isn't well constructed: IT professionals told the Wall Street Journal that in addition to specific pieces not working, the whole thing was "built on a sloppy software foundation," potentially due to the haste with which code was written. Slate described just how difficult it is to coordinate multiple contractors creating different components of a complex Web portal."

But there are some supporters for CGI.

(Regarding the quotes, I will admit here, having cherry-picked from an article/paragraphs in the Washington Post which support McAfee, but there are other paragraphs in the Washington Post article that are not completely in agreement).

Dahreese , CGI has had

Dahreese , CGI has had problems with other contracts and this was a no bid contract. CGI had trouble in Hawaii and California I believe . Another one of the contract Companies , again no bid, is English and being investigated for over charge of services. Don't forget Michele was connected with an exec of CGI.

Also ,having done work on

Also ,having done work on Federal Contracts, I know that changes and modifications can come from "on high" and throw a monkey wrench in the works. Several of the contractors testified that was a large part of the problem with the computer site.

This woman in charge of the rollout after spending nearly a billion tax dollars, awarding a no bid contract to Michelle's college buddy's company should be enough to get them all fired. Someone's made a lot of money and there should be an investigation to find out who's profited from this whole mess.

looking at the practical side....

by government decree, over 50 contractors were involved in fulfilling the mandate of the law. ALL comments from those who build these types of 'programs' say '50' is the problem. This contract for services should have been with at most, 4-5 contractors.

""Once again, a prime example of Canadians being treated better than Mexicans!""

Is it not correct that the Obamacare web-site was designed by a Canadians company? Did any Mexican companies bid on this project? Speeking of Obamacare, I just visited the site and I am thinking the best way to go is by paper application. Looks fairly simple for all of you that are going to have to sign up!!

As a side note, my meds. are still not working, so I may very well believe anything you say!!

As for the insurance companies, I think the word you are looking for is GREED! They are dropping people like rocks in order to make more money through Obamacare. Think about it, if they drop people who are paying a reasonable premium, then people will have no choice but to go through Obamacare. This way, the premiums are higher no matter where the money comes from!
