Bottom Line: Loony excuses

A suspect in the infamous May 3 Riverwalk attack says he was “just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

A local burglar convicted of shooting a good Samaritan in the face in 2011 claims, “It wasn’t my intention to hurt anybody.”

Do you think maybe we’re a little delusional?

What did young Stanley L. Fields – now sentenced to 45 years in prison – think he would do by shooting good Samaritan Wayne Eggins Jr. in the face? That’s not exactly ProFlowers.com.

As for Riverwalk beating suspect Kevin D. Richardson’s complaint that he was maybe just with the wrong company that night a couple was severely beaten with a metal ball bat – what did he think would happen when he took a stroll with a fellow wielding a bat? Romance?

There ought to be extra prison time for loony, offensive excuses.
