Bottom line

  • Follow Editorials

Whenever there’s a whiff of a chance for America’s chronically liberal media to imply that violent crime is spurred by conservative values, reporters seemingly fall all over one another to file stories.

But when the shoe’s on the other foot – the left foot – all of a sudden the media isn’t nearly as interested.

So it was this past week when a gunman barged into the Washington, D.C., offices of the conservative Family Research Council. Floyd Corkins is accused of shooting a security guard in the arm to express his anger over the FRC’s Christian values and policy positions.

Corkins is a volunteer for a gay-rights advocacy group, but media were loath to draw any conclusions about the suspect’s left-leaning politics.

But why were media outlets so eager to peg the recent Aurora, Colo., theater shooter as a right-winger – until that
assertion turned out to be utterly false?

These kinds of public shootings are spawned from a repulsive climate of hatred – and although many liberals wish otherwise, that hatred isn’t the exclusive province of a particular political ideology.

Just report the facts.

We do have a record to hang

We do have a record to hang Obama's hat on- the man has been President for almost four years now!!

His voting present was not 200 times, it 129 times, which represents a little more than 3 percent of his total votes.

Obama is not my horse, just because I don't call him "oblumer"- don't mistake that for him being my horse.

And how can we know Romney? The man flip flops worse than Kerry!!

Obama- we know what schools he went too, and he did well enough that he became the editor of the Harvard Law Review at the end of his first year, and President of the journal the following year. Want to know more- that's fine!! In fact that is great!! You won't ever hear me say "Nope, not knowing Obama is acceptable!".

"Ha! Yes We Do.....

....but people just don't want to believe it, people like conspiracy theories."

Baloney. That claim sounds like a conspiracy theory. Nonetheless, we know almost nothing about Obama, even after all this time. Am I surprised you deny that fact? Of course not.

I'm not going to write a biography on Obama- but I know enough to know he is American, not a Muslim, didn't get foreign student loans, doesn't hate America, or capitalism and other things. Could we know more- sure. You want to see school grades, his transcripts- that's awesome! We should. We knew how well Bush did in college, so why not Obama. I wonder if Romney would release his- to put the spotlight on Obama.

I Like Romney

and I like his VP pick. I think Romney is a solid pro business moderate. He changed his mind about abortion - as did I.

I believe Romney will push forward with pro energy policies that we really need -which is the pursuit of EVERY kind of energy, from fossil fuels to solar panels and everything in between. This will create good and well paying jobs for the middle class. (Don't dispute this until you ride your tail up to oil country, where oil wells sit side by side with wind farms.)

America's future is bright, if only we can stamp out the fringe on each side and work together for the common good. We're still a family here in America. 300+ million brothers and sisters are gonna have disagreements, but let's put our heads together and move forward.
Let's stop whining about manufacturing jobs that have left the country. America is still in the export business - we export entrepreneurial vision and leadership. We export bad music and pornography and good food.

Worried about China? We own China, people. The communist regime in China is going to fail as capitalism continues to take hold in that area. America is leading the way! We're going to turn 1 billion people into big fat Quarter Pounder eating porn addicts trying to pick up chicks on Facebook.

Entitlement reform can be accomplished too. We did in 1996. It is fundamentally wrong for an able bodied person to sit on their backside and live a pretty solid middle class life on the backs of working folks. Folks that need help - including the elderly, disabled, vets, mentally ill, etc., we should help. We have a safety net in place and we need to use it. I don't mind paying for those people.

And the ultra religious right needs to stop trying to get the state to implement some Christian theocracy. We are a secular nation. I roll with my version of Sky Daddy and you roll with yours.(My pro life stance has nothing to do with my religion. I was pro life before I was a church going Christian.) Your boogie man ain't gonna do nothing to me, no matter what you say. Deal with your fear in your own way, but leave me alone.

Environmentalists, shut your pie holes too. You are, as much as any evil corporation, responsible for the high unemployment rate. You've shut the water off in California's bread basket, leaving thousands of working class people in squalor. How you can think that such action is noble is beyond me. If you want to live on organic food on a homestead or something, then move your tail out to the middle of the country and form a commune - and you'll learn, just as the hippies did, that it sucks.

Illegal aliens? Let's give them amnesty now. We have done it before and it did not kill us. They are here and they are going to stay. The ones from southern areas of the Americas are mostly Catholic and hold traditional values. Plus they have lots of babies. We need more babies! We need population growth. Spin it like Reagan did in '86 and call it whatever you want, but get it done.

Augusta National now has female green jackets. A BLACK WOMAN! I told a friend a few months ago that I knew for a fact that the club was going to bring in women. Billy Payne is no Hootie - Payne is a visionary who brought the olympics to Atlanta, GA. He knows what time it is.

And that's about as much of a harbinger of change as anything else.

Let's set aside the stupidity. Let's get America back to work - no matter what. Let's get back to being freedom loving Americans and stop looking to the state to solve every single problem. Take care of yourself first and you'll be better able to help others. Let's stop the cynicism and whining that is holding us back.

Barack Obama did say one thing that I believe - America's best days are yet to come.

Brothers and sisters, let's do this. Let's take America forward in a big way.

You "know" none of those things. You may "think" those things, but you don't "know" them. Others (those you claim "like conspiracy theories" think otherwise. I mean unless you can provide proof of the things you claim you "know" and I'd be thrilled to see that proof.

Until I do, I think he's hiding an awful lot and I wonder why.

Back on topic though....;)

Here is another good article.

http://www.economist.com/node/21560566?fsrc=scn/tw/te/ar/benefitsofhinds...

It's similar in the EU. In 2010 there were 249 recorded terrorist attacks, of which 3 were classified as Islamic terrorism. The two most recent major terrorist incidents (both featuring mass murder) were both related to right-wing groups.

The difference is, if they find weapons and explosives in the house of a National Front member, nobody cares. If they arrest a Muslim and then release him the next day without charge, the papers will pretend that a 9/11 sized incident was just averted.

Ha!, Yeah we do!! No one would give him access to launching nuclear weapons if he wasn't an American!! He wouldn't have prominent positions with the Harvard Law Review if he didn't earn it. He couldn't graduate Harvard magna cum laude if he didn't earn it, or be hired as a professor. Of course nothing will convince you otherwise- so why bother explaining it to you?

You're making some logical errors you should have learned about in Logic 101. Just because gets access to secret codes, or gets admitted to prestigious schools, DOES NOT prove he met all the normal requirements. So do you have any proof, or not?

What proof do you need?

What proof do you need? Seriously? Nothing will convince you- so why bother. Anyone can play this game! Just because Romney went to a prestigious school, doesn't mean he earned it, or met the normal requirements! With you Harley- I'm going to use your own 'tactics' online. This will be fun!

Jeb Bush would be one of my picks. (Maybe Trump...that ought to make some noise.) Brett Hume...
I doubt that Rice would accept. Lots of good folks but I don't want to take a Governor or Congressman...we need those guys and gals where they are.

More and more disgruntled citizens from both left and right

radical groups. You will see it occur even more if our leaders create the breeding ground - employing the politics of division.
