Bottom line

Not only do thugs not want to sell back their guns (see editorial above), but they are desperate for more of them.

So desperate that three of them rammed a van right into the side of the Guns & Ammo Gunsmith building in Belvedere, S.C., early Thursday morning to load the van up with stolen guns.

Luckily the owner was not only on site but well-armed, killing one of the three and wounding the other two so badly they stopped at a Waffle House for help.

The owner says the three brazenly threatened to kill him, but he got the better of them.

One supposes there are legitimate uses for AR-15 semiautomatic rifles after all.

Such battles occur every day on American streets. We need not disarm the good guys, or expect the bad guys to do it themselves.
