Occupying incoherency

  • Follow Editorials

Many, if not most, Americans might have agreed with them. Democrats in Washington and their supporters in the “mainstream” media desperately wanted them to be the liberal answer to the Tea Party.

Yet, the Occupy movement has presented no coherent message; has become a public health menace that even liberal city leaders have had to remove forcibly; has cost people their jobs and cut into their livelihoods; has been the scene of numerous crimes; and has lost the sympathy of most Americans: A Siena poll indicates 66 percent say the Occupiers do not speak for them.

This week, one Occupier exhorted others, “On the 17th, we’re going to burn New York City to the (expletive) ground,” and, “In a few days, you’re going to see what a Molotov cocktail can do to Macy’s.”

That man, identified as Nkrumah Tinsley, was arrested for making terroristic threats. The New York Daily News reports that, “It’s not the first time Tinsley has been busted since the Occupied Wall Street movement started in Sept. In October, Tinsley was arrested on Barclay St. for punching a cop in the face and kicking him on the ground during a protest. He was charged with felony assault for the attack and later released without bail.”

On Thursday, two New York police officers were injured by Occupy protesters.

At Occupy San Diego, they held a moment of “solidarity” for “the White House and the guy who shot at the White House today.” You can’t make this stuff up.

These are the folks that NBC news anchorman Brian Williams suggested might be the movement of our era – and worried that comedian Jon Stewart had been too tough on.

“God bless them,” former Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said of the Occupiers, “for their spontaneity. It’s independent ... it’s young, it’s spontaneous, and it’s focused. And it’s going to be effective.”

Oops.

Just wondering: What might Brian Williams or others in the liberal media have said about Tea Party members carrying on this way? On second thought, we already know.

So, the media and their Democratic friends, so tightly tethered to this motley crew – that have defecated in the streets and assaulted police
officers and Thursday tried to shut down Wall Street, which would have further hurt other innocent Americans – will be loath to admit the mistake. Nor will they ever likely apologize to the Tea Party movement, which they slandered from the start.

Instead, through what they say and what they don’t say, they have disingenuously tried to build up the Occupy movement to be the Tea Party’s equal. The media have largely ignored the fact that the man who’s believed to have shot at the White House was at the Occupy D.C. encampment.

Nice try. Enjoy trying to explain away the behavior of your friends.

I wonder if they will mess

I wonder if they will mess with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I love to watch that. My wife and kids and I watch Miracle on 34th St afterwards. (The one with Natalie Wood.)

If these knumbskulls mess with my Thanksgiving tradition I'm going to be hopping mad. They are stupid kids with no message just a bunch of urban campers wreaking havoc on cities.
I wish they'd occupy a job and leave normal citizens alone.

In the beginning the media

In the beginning the media went to great lengths to say this was a peaceful movement. We left that concept at the 1 mile marker as we crossed into a new state.

This is now out and out violence that's escalating. It's the best thing that could happen to Republicans, including whoever the presidential candidate is. Americans are disgusted with them and their Democrat apologists.

John Barrow, how do you feel about them?

When not using pink paper during breast cancer awareness time, it's looking more and more like the AC needs to print on yellow paper.

See: Faux News' incorrect report (repeated by the AC) "The media have largely ignored the fact that the man who’s believed to have shot at the White House was at the Occupy D.C. encampment." That should fit the definition.

Techfan, gosh I hope that

Techfan, gosh I hope that does not mean Georgia Tech, I watch FOX news on a regular basis . They are what they say they are "fair and balanced". They have people from both sides of the political spectrum on a regular basis. You know, Bob Beckel, Alan Colmes and a very nice black lady whose name escapes me who is a strong democrat operative. To keep from appearing silly I would suggest you quit using the Faux when referring to them. It also destroys your credibility.

Well, the occupiers have

Well, the occupiers have their problems to be sure. Indeed the Tea Party rallies have, to their credit, been much more orderly and peaceful. At the same time, for sheer craziness, the occupiers have still not caught up with the birthers, or with the Republican candidates (like Rick Perry) who want to abolish the Commerce Department (which includes, by the way, the National Weather Service, the hurricane hunters, cyber security operations, and the US Patent Office), or with the conservative anarchists who want to shut down the entire US government just to save money. A basic lesson is that the fringes on both ends of the political system are out to lunch. Once again, the ACES fails to note that two wrongs don't make a right. Most Americans crave a respectable, moderate alternative. What ever happened to Republicans like McKinley or Eisenhower?

In the beginning I believed

In the beginning I believed they had a message....I still think"some" want positive changes but the riff-raff will sour their true intent.....now they are a nuisance to most....not exactly what changes the world for a better place.....jobs are needed & we all know that.....we each can buy locally & put our neighbors back to work...we don't have to occupy anything
Big business will get the clue if you DON'T BUY FROM THEM...we have so much power in our purchasing...it is easier than most think.
Buy local products
local services
change Christmas season buy local gift certificates

If it is made in another country--put it down.
When millions do that...the economy will come back.

If they want change they

If they want change they should bathe, shave, put on a clean suit and go job hunting. Once that is done they should vote. After they vote, and if their person is elected, they should then express themselves to that elected official as to what they want done. This is the way our system is supposed to work. Disturbing the peace won't hack it.

OWS is becoming a huge

OWS is becoming a huge problem. SeenitB4 is right- they started out with the right idea with our system and being angry at the banks and corporations who privatize gains and socialize losses. Now OWS is getting so bad, and off message that the Daily Show makes fun of them. The Daily Show.

The Tea Party did a get a lot of slander, and with such a large group there are going to be crazies (think about our own families, we all have some nuts!). I applied that some thought to the OWS, and dismissed some of the weird people. However no one in the Tea Party used their young children to block entrances into buildings, trying to get a pay day from the city or corporations when private security and police attempted to removed the mother and children. I can't believe that didn't make national news, however when members of the Tea Party had weapons on them (Rifles slung, or pistols in holsters) it was national news- as if the second amendment is national news.

In the beginning of OWS I was excited, because what they wanted is what the Tea Party wants. And I was hoping the OWS would do the right thing and figure it out and go about it the right way (like the the Tea Party.). Instead they just doubled down on crazy and violent rhetoric and actions.

So Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez

So Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez hung out at the Occupy Wall Street encampment? Techfan says that's just Fox News disinformation, and perhaps it is, but that never has stopped Mike Ryan from printing such stuff. But in the case of Ortega-Hernandez, any attempt to tie him to the OWS bunch is ludicrous. No, Mike, he's one of yours. Idaho, Utah, Texas--that's Tea Party turf. Ortega-Hernandez thinks he's the Second Coming of Christ--your kind of guy all the way. Travels with a semi-automatic weapon in his car?--mandated right wing insurance. Calls Obama the Anti-Christ? Believes the federal government is trying to implant computer chips in kids?--both high on the far right fantasy hit parade. Nice try, Mike, but this looser is yours.

Oh My

Oh My goodness..Ortega-Hernandez is nothing but a crack-pot. Fox reported that he had been hiding out with the OWS so who is to say? None of us know, that is for sure.

After all the OWS crack-pot vowing to burn NYC , is the more dangerous of the two, wouldn't you say.
Activists and crazies aren't usually political and don't believe in voting, that is too tame for them.

This is no Tea Party movement

This is no Tea Party movement (which by the way, was extremely effective - see 2010 election results)

Two months of occupy "fun" have brought us the following:
Lice
Fleas
Scabies
Tuberculosis
STD's
Rapes
Injury of police officers trying to keep the peace & enforce the law
Heckling of small children trying to go to school
Assulting of active duty military members
Using their own children as human barricades
Murder of other protesters
Suicides
Shooting at the White House ("blended in" with occupy protesters)
Molotov cocktails thrown at banks
Clashes with police
Destruction of private property
Destruction of public property
Anti-Semitism/Hate/Racism
Mooching for free meals
Economic destruction of businesses near their encampments
Demonstration of union "muscle"/immaturity/danger to America
Pooping & peeing in the street (usually without wiping)

Next on the list will probably be:
Staff infections
Aids
Drug resistant infections
Flu outbreaks
Murder and/or injury of innocent by standers
Kidnappings
Extreme violence

A somewhat decent idea has been co-opted by the radicals and hippie wanna be's. And obama's former staff member, communist Van Jones says "You haven't seen anything yet".

Great.

Reporters For Right-Wing Publication Daily Caller Beaten By NYPD, Helped By Protesters

***

“Direna had a camera in her hand and I had a microphone, and we were being hit,” she said. “When I fell to the ground I said at one point, ‘I’m just covering this! I’m covering this!’ And the officer just said, ‘Come on, get up, get up,’ before pulling me up by my jacket.’”

In the crush of the crowd, Fields and Cousins were unable to get out of the street and comply with the NYPD’s orders.

“The protesters came up to me right away and asked if I needed any medical assistance. They were actually very kind and helpful. It was the police officers who were very aggressive,” Fields added.

The OWS movement is planned,

The OWS movement is planned, organized, and directed by people who hate America, want to subvert our Constitution and our form of government, and want to destroy our Economy. In other words, the Obama Administration and its ultra-left supporters.

The only thing spontaneous about the movement is that college kids and other naive youngsters have been duped into becoming useful idiots for the organizers who have ginned up some class warfare rhetoric to hide behind as cover for their real motives.

When the Arizona congress

When the Arizona congress women was shot the media and left immediatly blamed Rush Limbaugh etc with no evidence. The shooter in Arizona was more of a left wing nut case than right yet it didn't stop the press from trying to connect him to the Tea Party etc. One item left off on the long list of infractions by the OWS crowd is the assulting of active duty military members. Coast Gaurd commanders told their members not to wear their uniforms if they had to go by OWS camps!

Here's some chilling news for

Here's some chilling news for you all.

This is about to be ramped up at Universities in a big way - hence the involvement of Bill Ayers (who has been running all over the U.S. speaking at Universities for the last couple of years - he's made lots of Professor "friends" to help him).

My child attends a large University here in Georgia. They were just informed by their history professor (surprise surprise) that an occupy planning group is being formed so that they can "get the ball rolling" on the University campus.

Now here's the scary part.

Extra credit is being handed out if you attend the meetings. They are bribing these young people to attend in order to brainwash them.
