I'm not disputing the criminality of her actions,

but did I hear correctly that she was entitled to half of what came from those towns? I wondered at the time if that was correct, but haven't heard much of anything but the clamor of outrage.

I don't have a dog in this fight beyond being scandalized, but I seriously believe theft of any public funds by elected officials merits prison time.

Most of us would agree, however, looks like the Columbia County Commission prefers to avoid airing any more dirty laundry than necessary. Thus the settlement...

I'm no lawyer (and never wanted to be one) but I'm thinking that there may well be some sort of civil suit lurking out there on the horizon.
