"Hey buddy have you got some Change?"
It is not the job of the government to create jobs.
But the government doesn't need to be in the way, hindering private sector job creation.
Our politicos enact or enforce laws that impact every sector of the job market. Political power can be and is used to promote or destroy business ,regulation and taxes impact the job market as much or more than consumers. The shame is that consumers have taken a backseat to donations and crony capitalists in the legislators ranking of importance. Gifts and donations from lobbyists and special interest groups happen all year long, while voters only are a concern every few years, which do you think will have a bigger impact on a politian's vote?
If Rick is implying that the homeless are seeking work then he is wrong. Most have mental and abuse issues and, sad to say, many are veterans. The people who live on the streets were at one time contributors to our society but for various reasons are no longer. I don't think you can claim that Obama is responsible for this.
Informed organizations that deal with homelessness on a regular basis will tell you that the phenomenon has known an increase ever since the 1980's and many state officials and social aid organizations and institutions are addressing the issue head on. Many homeless people have been abandoned by their families on account of diverse types of problems, substance abuse being the main one.
You will find that hard working people who have been sacked are among the homeless, also veterans and people released from prison who have paid their debts to society but cannot seem to be able to get a job, mainly on account of their record. The McKinney-Vento Act (also known as the Homeless Assistance Act) was expected to have a good impact on solving the problem but was filibustered by Republicans.
For a Repucblican lacky with a degree from the 'close cover before striking' art institute to lay it at the foot of any President currently holding office is (I was going to say ignorant) ... but let's just say uninformed.
