everyones so keen to attack azziz. C'mon guys when you had 3 choices , GAS-U , GRU and UOA .. no one protested.. everyone was wishing it would be their favorite not the other. And you guys never complained .. ( yeah always hoping its going to be your choice ) never throught its 2/3rd chance to get one of those horrible names. Azziz did his best.. he gave the 3 names suggested by the community to the Regents.. well if you want to complain go direct to the Regents who chose the GRU!!! oh by the way , BOR are the best buddies of your most clean governor , pride of the republican party .. Its wery cowardly to make Azziz the piñata, while real decision makers are kept out of the attack.. I guess everyone wants to show their power and wants to bring down this man ... c'mon guys , be sensible !
Make that radius all the way to Gwinnett...
PK Richmond, Azziz is the pinata. He wanted this name and no one else did. And everyone thought surely the new name would be University of Augusta since the consolidated school spent $45,000 on a study that showed that name to be the overwhelming choice. It followed right in line with the pattern: Augusta College, Augusta State University, ---University of Augusta. There was no need to protest before this awful name because no one thought it had a chance. C'mon PK Richmond, be sensible!
The alumni, faculty, students, residents of Augusta want to market our city to the world, not the Board of Regents.
Seems like the Augusta crowd wants to keep the "Augusta" name like it is some sort of "Badge of Honor" or maybe it validates where they live, like people who are applying to go to school there really give a rat's behind. But the GRU name really stinks and having something with "Augusta" in it may be the way to go even if all it does is keep the locals from rioting.
Jake, there have people considering going there who have posted that they are reconsidering. Also some parents, who write the checks. Don't know how huge their numbers are in the grand scheme of things.
