Speak against terrorists

In a letter from Ayman Al-Hendy (“View of Islam is naïve,” Aug. 13), he claims that, as a Muslim, he found The Augusta Chronicle’s Aug. 9 political cartoon, representing six terrorist groups, as being disingenuous, insincere and simply inaccurate.

Those named are ISIS, Hamas, Boko Haram, the Taliban, al-Qaida and Hezbollah. They are identified as Islamic terrorists and are in the news for burning churches and killing innocent men, women and children. This killing goes along with a verse in the Quran that, terrorists believe, permits followers to kill infidels and all who will not convert to Islam.

Dr. Al-Hendy refers to the armies of different countries as Christians, killing more people than any other religion. I believe he is referring to the Crusades, when the Catholic pope gave orders for those armies to free the Holy Land from Islam, and to stop Islam’s advancement.

Israel is defending itself against Muslim terrorists. Someone once wrote there would be peace between Israel and Islam if the Muslims would love their children more than they hate Israel.

If there were a separation between the “peaceful Muslims” and the terrorists, as Dr. Al-Hendy suggests, then perhaps it would be helpful to hear some kind of outcry from them against the terrorists and their senseless killing of innocent people.
