A Buckeye-opening win

The college football world owes a great debt of gratitude to Michigan State University for recently revealing the previously overrated ranking of Ohio State University. The then-No.-2-ranked Buckeyes had not played a single top-10 team, and only a couple of teams that were even ranked.

Ohio State has a great football tradition. It has good players and a great coach. Perhaps because of that, pollsters tend to rank them higher than they deserve to be.

There must be at least six or eight other teams – including Auburn University, the University of Alabama, the University of South Carolina, the University of Missouri and Michigan State University – who far better deserve the privilege of playing Florida State University for the national championship.

Thank you, Michigan State, for proving this!
