This is in response to the Sept. 2 editorial “Push the envelope back.” There is no shame in society now. Anything goes, and there is no right or wrong.
We call sin a mistake. We have left God out of our lives. The children being reared now are little gods to their parents. We older people know better but say very little. We need to teach the Ten Commandments and live by them, and teach the Golden Rule. We need to love one another. Society rewards sin, celebrities live any kind of way and we pump them up – for example, actress Halle Berry getting pregnant this year out of wedlock.
We are reaping what we have sown, according to the Bible. Young people have a “gimme” mentality – no respect. Television is terrible – the curse words, nudity, anything goes.
We are worse than animals now the way we live – two men or two women marrying each other. God is not pleased. He soon will bring his judgment upon us.
I am 72 years old, married with grown sons and grandchildren, and I say this all the time: God is not pleased with us. There is a right way and a wrong way to act in this world.
