Our problem is right here

What is all the protest about in Augusta about the George Zimmerman case – in Sanford, Fla.?

We are plagued with crime here, but there were no protests by white people when two black men reportedly beat a white couple on Riverwalk half to death. Talk about a civil rights violation – what about the civil rights of that white couple – who I believe was targeted, stalked and beaten half to death by young black men?

Of all the black people murdered this year in the CSRA, the majority of the killers were other blacks. Where is the protest about that? Our problem is not Sanford, Fla.

Our problem is the crime in the CSRA – our home. The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Black folks need to clean their own act up and be an example to their youth who are lost to tragic shooting events that play out in our streets day in and day out. That’s what they should be in protest over.

Give the sheriff more budget money to do his job and fight crime and reduce the waste of young black life in our streets.
