I just read the article about Air Force One – President Eisenhower’s former plane – that is rusting away in a field in Arizona. Efforts to sell it apparently have been unsuccessful.
The city of Augusta, and particularly the Augusta National Golf Club, are missing a wonderful, golden opportunity if they don’t buy it, have it restored and put on display in one of the green, grassy fields at the National.
This was the airplane in which the president flew here to visit friends and play golf at his second home. What a great attraction it would be. I’d be out to see it in a minute. I’d even kick in a buck or two to help finance the project.
