Hamlet’s assertion that “something is rotten in the state of Denmark” may very well apply to our United States of America.
Barack Obama – the president of the people, by the people and for the people – doesn’t seem to realize his vital obligation. Despite the firmness of his voice and the seriousness of his demeanor, he is showing insecurity and weakness. He just won his second term, which gives him a unique opportunity to put our country in the right direction after so many failures.
We are looking at a president who is talking about compromising our Social Security and Medicare benefits to “meet the House majority halfway” in an effort to reduce our country’s debt and, at the same time, not to increase taxes of our millionaires and billionaires.
He is afraid to denounce both Democrats and Republicans for the obscenity of receiving payments from the National Rifle Association as well as from the Israeli lobby, which has decided our Middle East foreign policy forever.
The time has come for Mr. Obama to use his bully pulpit to address the nation and expose our malaises, fallacies and trickeries and scare those “patriotic” wheeler-dealers.
