I am very sad that U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss has decided not to run again. I respect his explanation and understand his frustration in attempting to accomplish anything in a dysfunctional environment – i.e., Washington, D.C. I thank him for his service and for
reintroducing the Fair Tax for this new Congress.
Tax revision is sorely needed, and he explained that very well in his Fair Tax reintroduction.
Please see the Jan. 27 Opinion section of The Augusta Chronicle, and the editorial titled “The fix is in.” It gave five things we must do to fix Washington. Unfortunately, they left out No. 6:
6. Tax revision. Scrap our bloated, broken and costly income tax system of obtaining revenue. Replace it with an efficient and fair tax on all new goods and services purchased by citizens above the poverty level and by businesses.
