Get set for big football

On Jan. 7, 2013, Notre Dame and Alabama will meet in the Orange Bowl to decide the college football national championship.

This might be the most-watched college football game ever.

The last time these schools played for the national title was 1973, with Notre Dame winning a thriller, 24-23.

These schools’ coaches are legendary and their players litter the College Football Hall of Fame. Moreover, Notre Dame recently was honored as the school graduating the highest percentage of student athletes.

This is the first time a school has been No. 1 in graduation success and No. 1 in the Bowl Championship Series – which proves that athletic and academic excellence are not mutually exclusive, and winning the right way is possible.

This country has been through some difficult times lately. Not everything is right with America. But at least in one respect, life is back to normal: Notre Dame is No. 1 again.

Wake up the echoes cheering her name.
