The space shuttle Endeavor is something very special and makes all of our citizens very proud. That around 400 trees had to be cut in order for the spaceship to get to its final destination is beyond me.
As it will be an exhibition item never to fly in space again, why could they not remove the wings or any part that made it too wide for smoother transportation and then re-attach the items once it was in place?
Trees don’t grow overnight, and I really think 400 trees should not have been sacrificed no matter what had to come through. I would call this bad planning, and no thorough thinking on the part of the party involved in this move. Sad - but true.
