If “Georgia” has to be in Augusta’s merged university name for the Board of Regents to approve it – as they have demonstrated with other recent consolidated name changes – consider Georgia Arts and Medicine University.
Georgia A&M is very marketable, and it reflects what we have in terms of a consolidated university. Georgia Arts and Medicine University says it all. It should be a name that everyone would be proud of. It seems the regents will not approve Augusta University, as it is only regionally marketable.
Come on, folks – get on the bandwagon and promote Georgia A&M as the name for the two schools to come under. It might be the only realistic chance of not having the name sound like a bootleg Internet school. Ask yourself: Would you rather attend or be a graduate of Georgia Arts and Medicine (Georgia A&M), or Regents?
