This program was never – I repeat, never – about health care. It was, from the very beginning, an attempt to destroy the private health-care industry, thereby forcing everyone into a single-payer, government-run system.
President Obama himself was quoted in 2007 saying it might take 10 or 15 years. Mission accomplished.
What infuriates me is that private-sector solutions were never even considered by the left – like allowing people to shop across state lines for insurance, or attempting some type of tort reform to crack down on the “one call that’s all” ambulance chasers and keep insurance companies expenses down.
No, the only solution ever considered by our “friends” on the left was a complete and total takeover of the health-care system in an attempt to buy the votes of the poor, the ignorant and the illegals. That gives the left the power in the next election cycle to say “Don’t vote for those evil Republicans. They want to take away your health care.” Again, mission accomplished.
Sadly, I see health-care rationing in the near future, making it harder for everyone to get proper care. Death panels? Not exactly. The whole system is the death panel.
We will then begin to live out the results of what does not work about Obamacare.
It eventually will reduce doctors to being government employees (DMV medicine, anyone?), and will reduce the overall quality and availability of health care to all Americans.
Lastly, the Supreme Court ruling will either work out fine (which I seriously doubt), or it will bankrupt this country and prove to be the final nail in the coffin the left has been building for America for years. Mission accomplished, indeed.
