Jesus means so much more

This is in response to I.A. Jilan’s letter (“Jesus prominent in Quran,” June 5). In the Bible from John 16: 23-24, Jesus said, “Most assuredly I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name, He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”

While Jesus may be considered as prominent in the Quran, in the Bible He is God.

God is spirit and His fullness dwells in Jesus. Who walked in the garden? Who spoke to Abraham before He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah? Who is the one who died for us and took the punishment that we deserved and yet was raised from the dead? Jesus is the correct answer for all the questions.

As a child of God, we can pray directly to God in the name of the Lord Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit. In John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Without the Jesus of the Bible then we are condemned.

While the Quran may consider Jesus as prominent, we Bible believers consider Him as everything.
