It’s that time of year when the city of Augusta cleans up our streets, medians and other public spaces to make them attractive for our Masters Tournament visitors. Unfortunately, our city leaders don’t have the same regard for our year-round residents.
By the middle of May, our public areas will be knee-deep in weeds and strewn with debris, which the city will clean up partially in early summer. That same neglect cycle will repeat throughout the year until it’s time again to impress our Masters visitors!
Don’t our residents deserve as much respect from our city leaders as our visitors get?
