In response to the letter of Gary J. Heffner (“Killer undeserving of honor,” Oct. 26), the only thing worthy of print was the last paragraph of his letter. However, he is even off the mark in his comments here. Please let me explain.
Unlike Mr. Heffner, God is the perfect judge who acts more than “adequately” in everything – always. The reason God’s judgment of Christopher Hodges is perfect is that God understands Christopher and the circumstances surrounding the events of that night perfectly.
Unlike Mr.Heffner, God judges each one of his children mercifully. Simply commending Christopher to the mercy of God after you spend 95 percent of his letter maligning him shows how little Mr. Heffner understands being merciful himself.
