HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - John Franklin "Frankie" Herndon, 75, entered into rest Tuesday, April 17, 2012. He was born in Clearwater, SC on March 26, 1937 to the late Catherine and Grady Herndon. Mr. Herndon was a retired Richmond County Auto Mechanic school teacher. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Franda Mae Elmy Herndon, daughter, Tammy Gibson (Richard), of Easton, PA, son, Michael Herndon (Toni), of Abbeville, SC, son, Zachary Herndon, of Hephzibah, grandchildren, Evan and Teddi Herndon, brother, Ralph Herndon (June), of Evans, brother, Marvin Herndon (Daphne), of Clearwater, SC, and sister, Margaret Lombardi (Jerry), of Clearwater, SC. Visitation: 2-4 pm, Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the funeral home. Funeral: 4pm, Thursday, April 19 at the funeral home. Pastor T.G. Hall will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John Herndon Memorial Fund at Regions Bank in Hephzibah.
