EVANS, Ga. - Mrs. Dorothy Holland-Gow, who was the beloved wife of Thomas Gow died October 31, 2011, at Brandon Wilde. She was born April 4, 1928, to Mr. William Sandford and Mamie Lee Dutton in LaGrange, Georgia. She moved to Augusta in the early 1950's, and after working in other positions she subsequently established Dot Holland's, Inc., a specialty clothing and accessory store for women located for 21 years in Surrey Center. She loved all of her customers and treated them like family and friends. Dot was a faithful and active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, and a past member of the Augusta Country Club and Pinnacle Club. Dot was preceded in death by her late husband Max Louis Holland, her sister MargieFreeman and brother-in -law Lewis Freeman (LaGrange, Georgia), brother William Sandford Dutton, Jr. (Ohio), and her nephew Matthew Bryan Slaby. Dot is survived by her husband, Thomas Gow, sister Linda Dutton Slaby and husband Richard, two nephews Richard Allen Slaby, Jr. and his wife Soule, and Seth Douglas Slaby, all of Augusta, and her brother Thomas Gregory Dutton of Tennessee, along with many other family members that will always love her. The family would like to especially thank the staff of Brandon Wilde and her special care giver, Cindy Pilcher and Odyssey Hospice for the loving care they provided. A memorial service will be held at Brandon Wilde on November 10, 2011, at 2:00 P.M. with The Right Reverend Robert D. Fain officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
