BATH, S.C. - Mrs Alma Hutto Kaufman, born Oct 17, 1923; Died Oct. 30, 2011; Preceded in death by parents Ben R and Lula Kirkland Hutto, husband Irving "Duke" Kaufman, sister and brother- in law Mildred and Wm Earl Eidson, nephew Wm M Eidson. Born in Bath SC, she was a resident of Bath and Langley until her marriage, and relocating to her husband's home area in N.Y. She was a Sunday school teacher for several years at Langley First Baptist Church. In NY she taught 4 years Jewish Biblical history and textual traditions at Temple Torah, Cambria heights, NY; She relocated to Ohio in 1985 to be with her family there. Among her many charities she was a monthly supporter of St Jude's Children's research Hospital, Mephis TN, The US Humane society, Lutheran Faith Mission Food Bank and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She is survived by son Philip (Lynne) Kaufman, grand-daughters Lisa and Melanie Kaufman, Reynoldsburg OH, son Wayne Kaufman, grandson Shaun and grand-daughter Lauren Kaufman, Canyon Lake, CA, dear nephews Dewey (Phyllis) Eidson and family, Jimmy Eidson and family, Peyton (Sonia) Eidson and family,sister-in-law Ruth K Friedberg;--She wanted no funeral sermon or service, saying "those that knew and loved her, none was needed"; cremation at her request; She always loved the 23rd psalm--and we know she will dwell in the house of the Lord forever, as well as in our hearts.
