BELVEDERE, S.C. - Mr. Robert O. "Bob" Hammond, 76, of HandH Street, entered into rest on Friday, October 21, 2011 at his residence. His memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in the Rowland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Carter officiating. Interment will be private. Mr. Hammond loved to play golf, garden and have coffee with his coffee club. He was a retired Aiken County Sheriff Deputy and former Assistant Chief of the Bath Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Little Horse Creek Baptist Church and the Fraternal Order of Police. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Victor and Nancy Hammond of Hillview, KY and Todd and Linda Hammond of Bath, SC; three daughters, Pam Woodward of New Holland, SC, Angie Rucker and her husband, Keith of Gloverville, SC and Susie Anderson and her husband Richard of Belvedere; a sister, Erlene Brown of Warrenville, SC; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two nieces and two granddoggers, Dixie and Yuki. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frankie N. Hammond; a daughter, Sharon H. Rucker, his parents, Robert E. and Doris Taylor Hammond and a son-in-law, Andy Woodward. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
