Her warmth and compassion for her fellowman was always visible in everything she did and she treated everyone as an equal. The ultimate southern lady, she played golf with the West Lake Women's Golf Association and loved playing bridge with her friends. Lucy will be missed by all, but we are better people for having had her in our lives. Mrs. Walters was loved her church, Grace United Methodist Church and her church family. She served as President of the Women's Board and was a member of the Board of Trustees and the Building Committee. She and Ray have been lifetime members of the Stillwell Bible Class. She served on the University Hospital Volunteer Board and was an active member in the Women's Republican Party. She served North Augusta well as "First Lady", while her husband was mayor of North Augusta, 1971-1975, and always treasured the friendships that she and Ray made during his years in office as both Councilman and Mayor.
