APPLING, Ga. - Mr. Alfred Ernest Marioneaux, 86, husband of Mrs. Shirley Marioneaux, entered into rest on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at the University Hospital, Augusta, Ga. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday October 16, 2011 in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, Thomson, Ga., with the Reverend Ben Wiles officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the graveside. Mr. Marioneaux was born in Irondale, Ohio to the late Omar Marioneaux and Florence Nightingale Marioneaux and was a retired steel worker for Colt Industries He was also an US Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Masonic Lodge in East Liverpool, Ohio. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Shirley King Marioneaux; one son, Mark Marioneaux, Williamsburg, VA; two daughters, Denise Plaskon, Pittsburgh, PA and Renee Brewer, Charolettesville, VA; five grandchildren, Racheal Plaskon, Rebeka Plaskon, Jonathan Marioneaux, Laura Marioneaux and James Marioneaux. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation, PO Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018 Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 7 to 9PM at STARLING FUNERAL HOME, HARLEM, GA.
