AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Beauford I. "Buss" Hillman, 83, entered into rest Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Doctors Hospital. Mr. Hillman, a native of Augusta, attended Academy of Richmond County, and was a graduate of Southern Polytech Institute. He was a Veteran of the US Navy serving in Korea from 1947 to 1952. Mr. Hillman was a member of First Baptist of Augusta. He retired after 35 years at Liberty Mutual Inc. as a Loss Control Engineer. Mr. Hillman was a member of the John S. Davidson Masonic Lodge #677, FandAM. He was a catcher on the Louis L. Battey American Legion Baseball Team. Family members include his son: John T. Hillman and wife Jeanne-Anne of Fairview Park, OH; grandchildren: Shane Patrick Hillman, Meaghan Elizabeth Hillman; sister, Janie H. Evans of Augusta. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Annie H. Swann and brother, Preston B. Hillman of Augusta. Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet(s)and(s)Son. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the John S. Davidson Masonic Lodge #677.
