AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. William Joseph Muhr, husband of the late Margie M. Muhr, entered into rest Saturday, September 24, 2011, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 28, at 3:00 pm from the chapel of Chance(s)and(s)Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Father Matthew Ericksen officiating and Gene Hollins delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Muhr was a native of Lodi, New Jersey and served in the Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict. He made Augusta his home after his discharge from the Army. He later retired from the South Carolina Electric(s)and(s)Gas Company as an Electrical Supervisor after thirty-five years of service. He was of the Catholic faith. He was preceded in death by his son David E. Palmer. He is survived by three daughters, Sharon Lawson and her husband, Charles, of Augusta, Carol Turner, of Augusta, and Linda Lamberth and her husband, Sherman, of Evans; sister, Catherine Hoerter and her husband, George, of Denver, CO; seven grandchildren, Melanie Johnson, and her husband, Jay, Sarah Murray, and her husband, James, Kyle Turner and his wife Kellie, Brent Turner and his wife, Laura, Jason Lamberth, Lauren Baxley and her husband, Matt, and Brian Lamberth; and one great grandchild, Emily Elizabeth Turner. Pallbearers will be the grandsons and the husbands of the granddaughters. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 27, from 6:30 until 8:30 pm at the funeral home.
