MARTINEZ, Ga.- Mr. Ronald Lewis Sangster, U.S. Army, Ret., 45, of Martinez, Georgia died Friday, September 23, 2011, in Lake Wales, Fla. He was born on May 24, 1966 in Jacksonville, Florida and was raised in Lake Wales. Just after High School he entered the U.S. Army and served for twenty-four years until retirement in 2009. He served in communications all over the world and during the Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Ronnie was a family man. He never lived on Post so he could cook his own meals and tend to his hobby of raising a flower garden. He loved to go hunting with his own dogs and took his family to beaches all over the Southeast. He was of the Catholic Faith. He is survived by his wife Misty McPhail Sangster, mother Sara Caro of Lake Wales, father Gene Caro of Hog Valley, Florida, children Canton Sangster and Shelby Sangster both of Martinez, Sarah Sangster Beck and her husband Alex, U.S. Army Fort Lewis, Washington, and Justin McPhail of Martinez, sisters Sandra Knighten and her fiancand#142; Johnny Smith of Lake Wales and their children Jason and Tiffany and their families and Susan Townson and her husband James of Babson Park and their children Grace, Nicholas, and Colby, brother Donald Caro and his wife Rhonda of Lake Wales and their children Kalin, Kaila, Gage, Brandi, and Dustin and their families, his mother-in-law Betty McPhail and her fiancand#142; Danny Nix of Lake Wales and their family, uncles W.C. Williford, Jr. of Lake Wales and Ricky Caro of Hog Valley, and their families, and many friends and family in Martinez. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Edna Lewis Williford and W.C. Williford, Sr., and an uncle Billy Eugene Williford. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 28, 2011, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home. Military honors will be rendered and committal will follow on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
