John R. Harpring (NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.)

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. John Robert "Bob" Harpring, Sr., 85, of West Woodlawn Avenue, who entered into rest to be with his Heavenly Father and his sweetheart, Jo Ann on September 24,2011, will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Father Hugo Ruiz celebrant. Private Family Interment in Pineview Memorial Park with Veterans Honors. Mr. Harpring was a native of Paris, Illinois having made North Augusta his home for the past 60 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, a former member of the Knights of Columbia and a US Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Harpring retired as a Welding Engineer with E. I. DuPont Company with 33 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Harpring. Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, John Harpring, Jr., Jimmy Harpring and Larry and Melissa Harpring, all of North Augusta; two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Hogan and Debbie and Bobby Jones, all of North Augusta; three brothers, Donald Harpring, Paris, Illinois, William Harpring, Green Valley, Arizona and Thomas Harpring, Temple, Georgia; three sisters, Patricia Cashen and Joan Harpring, both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Nancy Nealy, Shreveport, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Amy Hunsicker, Michael Hogan, Robby Jones, Kristie Jones Hulsebus, Susan Sturgill, Sarah Harpring and Caroline Harpring; five great-grandchildren; a dear friend, Mary Hall. Pallbearers will be Milton Villemain, Dennis Villemain, Ted Velky, Ray Kroger, Steve Wach, and George Breden. . A Vigil Service for the Deceased will be conducted at the funeral home Tuesday evening at 5 o'clock followed by visitation until 7. The family will be at the residence of Linda Hogan, 2006 Arch Drive, North Augusta, SC.
