Arline Wilkie (McCORMICK, S.C.)

McCORMICK, S.C. - Arline Jennings Wilkie, 86, resident of 912 Gary Drive, widow of Garland Ray Wilkie, Sr., died September 25, 2011 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood. Born in Parksville, July 17, 1925, she was a daughter of the late James Beauregard, Jr. and Ida Pearl Bodie Jennings. She was a graduate of McCormick High School. Mrs. Wilkie retired in 1989 as church secretary for McCormick First Baptist Church. A member and former Sunday school teacher of McCormick First Baptist Church, she was a former member and Sunday school teacher at Plum Branch Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mary and husband Barney McDaniel of Greenwood; three sons, Ray, Jr. and wife Toni Wilkie of St. Matthews, Mike and wife Elaine Wilkie of N. Augusta and Sandy and wife Cathy Wilkie of Ninety Six; two sisters, Catherine and husband R.T. West of Greenwood and Carolyn and husband Gene Scott of Columbia; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Tuesday at McCormick First Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Kauffmann and Rev. Gary DeBerry officiating. Burial will follow in the Plum Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Tray Wilkie, Michael Wilkie, Cary Wilkie, Grant Wilkie, Colby McDaniel, John Kennedy and Charles Tipton. The honorary escort will be Jan Whitener, Mandy Rogers, Elizabeth Lee and Dell Taylor. The body is at Blyth Funeral Home in Greenwood and will be placed in the church at 9:00 AM Tuesday. The family is at the home on Gary Drive and will receive friends at the funeral home in Greenwood from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday.
