AIKEN, S.C. - Mr. Arlin Huette Holder, 80, of Aiken, beloved husband of forty-one years to Joyce Swint Holder, entered into rest Sunday, September 18th, 2011, at his home. Born in Lincolnton, GA, and an area resident since 1960, he was a son of the late John and Bessie Goldman Holder. A United States Army Veteran, he proudly served his country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He retired from Owens Corning after thirty years of service. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Batesburg. Arlin enjoyed fishing, a round of golf, woodworking, was a grill master and an avid Braves fan. In addition to his wife and parents, family members include daughters, Patricia Hite and Gloria Clayton, both of Batesburg; son, the late Johnny Holder, sisters, Lanette Jones, Knoxville, TN, Shirley Atkins, High Point, NC and the late Betty Stalcup, brother, the late Dean Holder, grandchildren, Paul Edmonds, Chris Bryant and Emily (Drayton) Craps and great-grandchildren, Tristan Bryant and Paul Patrick Edmonds. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, September 21st, 2011, at 3 o'clock at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Batesburg, (I-20/Exit #33) with Pastor Bill Watkins officiating. Mr. Holder will be placed in the church at 1 o'clock Wednesday. Interment with veterans honors accorded by the United States Army Honor Guard will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Oak Grove Baptist Church. A heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation goes out to Regency Hospice and Theresa Gaskin for the loving and devoted care shown to Mr. Holder and his family. The family is at the home.
