NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Entered into rest on Thursday, September 8, 2011, CMSgt. Merrill Allen Sparks USAF, Ret, husband of Mrs. Rita Loppe Sparks, of Calbrieth Way, North Augusta, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merrill Allen Sparks and Octavia King Sparks Stovall, sister, Brenda Sparks Ivey, step father, Stephen Clarence Stovall and a brother, Daniel Stovall CMSgt. Sparks retired from the U.S. Air Force with thirty years of service, having served his country in the Vietnam War. Surviving with his wife, are two children: Merrill Allen Sparks, III, Berlin, Germany and Stephan Christopher Sparks (Marissa), San Diego, CA; ; a sister, Nancy S. Nash (Edward), North Augusta, SC; a brother, Jeffery L. Stovall, GA and four grandchildren: Petra, Haley, Paven and Maygen. A Celebration of Life service with military honors accorded by the USAF will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home.
