PORTLAND, ME - Alice M. Lundell, 91, of Portland, Maine went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2011, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine surrounded by her loving daughter Susan and family. She was born July 25, 1920, in Portland, the daughter of Dr. Edmund LeTourneau and Bernadette Martin LeTourneau. She and her two brothers John and Edmund and two sisters Jeanette and Bernadette were raised on Thomas Street in Portland. Alice and her husband, Harry together owned and operated Lundell Trucking. Alice managed the office and Harry tended to his many customers throughout the greater Portland area. Harry's trucks were very distinctive and easily recognized by people who knew Harry. Alice was a wonderful homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was devoted to her family. She enjoyed hobbies such as sewing, knitting, crocheting, needle-point and painting. For many years she was an avid Red Sox fan, never missing a good game especially against the dreaded Yankees. When her health worsened she lived for a while with her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Bruce, before moving to Village Crossing in Cape Elizabeth and then to assisted living at St. Joseph's Manor in Portland. She was predeceased by the love of her life Harry E. Lundell on August 4, 2004. Also predeceasing Alice were her two brothers, John P. LeTourneau and Edmund LeTourneau and her sister, Jeannette LeTourneau. She is survived by her daughter Susan Lundell Leavitt of Windham, her husband, Bruce and children, Kimberly Lozier and husband, Charles and Dr. Peter Leavitt and wife, Tina; a son F. Norman Jordan of Augusta and his wife Ingrid and their children Trine Jordan, Krissy Jordan and Lilla Atwater and husband, Robert; a sister Bernadette (Babs) McLellan of Gardner; several nieces and nephews and (9) great grandchildren. Finally, she is survived by her closest and dearest friend Barbara McLellan who "stood-up" for Alice when she and Harry were married. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Jones, Rich(s)and(s)Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Prayers will be recited Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 9:15 am at the Funeral Home to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Pius Catholic Church 492 Ocean Avenue.
