AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Wade Bailey, of 2318 Buckingham Court, entered into rest on Friday, September 2, 2011. Mr. Bailey was born on December 10, 1943 in Augusta, GA. His parents were the late Mr. Thomas Bailey Sr. and Susie Nero Bailey. Mr. Bailey was a 1963 graduate of Lucy C. Laney Class High School. He later attended Augusta Technical School where he studied for 3 years to become an electrician, but stopped his studies when he was drafted into the U.S. Army to fight in the Vietnam War. Mr. Bailey served one tour in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1969. After proudly serving his country, he joined the CSX Railroad as a brakeman, retiring in 1996 after 27 years of service. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his devoted wife, Bettye Cail Bailey, two caring and loved daughters, Chandra LaKesha (Kyle) Williams of Johns Creek, GA, and Tiffany Nicole (Lee) Hendrickson of Sandy Springs, GA, and his three granddaughters, Madison, Brianna, and Kyia Williams. Other family members who loved and will miss Wade include his mother-in-law Selma Cail of Augusta, GA. Devoted nieces and nephews Pierre (Donna) Cail of Martinez, GA, and Tammy McRae of Augusta, GA and a nephew-in-law Thomas Bennett of Augusta, GA . Great nieces and nephews Niki Cail, Misty McRae, Fernando Bennett, and Maurice Bennett, all of Atlanta, GA, Ryan Cail of Martinez, GA, and Ronnie (Nancy) Beard, Michael (Phyllis) Bennett, and Matthew McRae, all of Augusta, GA. Mr. Bailey's family expanded during his life to include young people he considered as his children: Jacki (Christopher) Freeman of Lilburn, GA, Tia Robertson, MD, of Greenville, NC, and Tammy Derrico of Augusta, GA. Two Godsons Lee Chavous of Beech Island, SC, and Matthew McRae of Augusta, GA. Three Goddaughters Tennille WestPoint of Memphis, TN, and Christian and Marian Freeman of Lilburn, GA, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and beloved friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 9 at 1pm at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Gibson Chapel, 314A Laney Walker Blvd Ext, Augusta, GA 30901. There will be a meet and greet at the C.A. Reid Memorial Chapel on Thursday, September 8, from 6 to 7pm. Interment will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
