AUGUSTA, Ga. - Deacon Willie James Evans, Sr. . of Walden Drive entered into rest on Friday, August 26, 2011 at his residence. (A Time To Rejoice) celebration will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Doyle Baptist Church, Blythe, with Rev. Stephen C. Bratton , officiant and Rev. Willie James Evans, Jr. , celebration messenger. Mr. Evans, a native of Augusta, was a member of Doyle Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He retired from Thermal Ceramics after over forty years of service. A (true servant), he enjoyed helping people and working with his hands. Survivors are his wife, Lottie Evans; two sons, Johnny Bussey, Pastor Willie James (Tracey) Evans, Jr.; four daughters, Veronica (Randy) Tall, Teresa Ryans, Brenda (Robert) Gray, LeGale Evans; mother, Jannie Bolton; sisters, Pastor Mattie (Laddie) Black, Charley Plummer, Evelyn Rouse, Gladys (Leon) Coliins, Lutha Arnold, Louise (Rickey) Freeman, Shirley (Eddie) Winfrey, Joy (Curtis) Glenn; brothers, Casey (Eddye) Bolton, Willie (Joann) Bolton; godchild, Emmett Rouse, Jr.; grandchildren, Dawn (Jay) Jones, Symonne Tall, A'Leigha Evans, Melody Evans, Christian Gray, Nadia Evans, Nathan Evans, Antonio Fields, Monica Bussey, Sherrell Brown; nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous family friends.
