Shirley Marcus Moses (WAYNESBORO, Ga.)

WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Mr. Shirley Marcus Moses, 80, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Trinity Hospital of Augusta. He was a native of Winfield, Tennessee and grew up in Jellico Creek, Kentucky. Mr. Moses has been a resident of Waynesboro for the past 48 years. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in WWII and retired from the Perfection-Schwank Corporation after 47 years of service. Mr. Moses was a member of the Jellico Creek Baptist Church, attended Rosemont Heights Baptist Church and was a member of the Ogeechee Rod and Gun Club. Surviving are; his wife of 58 years, Estelle Martin Moses of Waynesboro, a daughter, Diane Williford and husband Robert of Waynesboro, his sons, Kenneth Moses and wife, Cheryl of Waynesboro, Kermit Moses and wife Diana of Westlake, Ohio, his brothers, Theodore Moses, Felix Moses, Kermit Moses, Rommell Moses and Carl Moses; his sisters, Matilda Cox, Flonnie Bishop and Carolyn Moses; his grandchildren, Nicole Gresham, Amanda Warner, Kacy Gustafson, Kerry Ferguson, Maggie Robinson, Julie Knight, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Joiner-Anderson- Saxon-Prescott Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Rosemont Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Wes Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Gardens.
