AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Lula Mae Brown entered into rest on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at her residence. She was formerly employed by Harvest Table Buffet, the United States Postal Service, and currently H(s)and(s)B Food Services at Fort Gordon. Lula was baptized at an early age at McElmurray Spring Branch Baptist Church. She served actively with the food ministry, Women's Fellowship, Missionary and Advisor of the Usher Board. Lula was a proud graduate of Lucy Craft Laney High School, class of 1978. She leaves to cherish fond loving memories with her husband, Barry Brown; daughter, LaShon Shorts; son, Morris Shorts, Jr.; grandchildren, Jaylan Shorts and Jeremiah Shorts; step-sons, Marquette Flowers and Rico Brown; mother, Vivian Henderson; brothers, Minister Leonard (Tonia) Johnson, Ricky Johnson, and Terrol Henderson; sister, Tammie (Shelton) Gross; grandmother, Jannie Wilson; mother-in-law, Pauline Brown; father-in-law, Ralph Brown and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and sorrowering friends. Funeral services will be 11:00am, Saturday, July 9, 2011, at McElmurray Spring Branch Baptist Church, 677 Spring Branch Church Road, Waynesboro, Ga., with Reverend Charles N.Utley, officiating and Bishop Sylvester Norwood, presiding.
