ANDERSON, S.C. - Hilda Juanita Acker, 86, died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born December 25, 1924 in Belton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Huff and Eunice Boyce Acker. She was a graduate of Belton High School and Draughons Business School, Greenville. Miss Acker retired from Elberton Federal Savings(s)and(s)Loan as Secretary-Treasurer. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Survivors include her sister, Betty Jean Padgett and husband, "PeeWee" of Edgefield; six nieces; two nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Lewis Acker and a sister, Helen Virginia Acker Martin. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, conducted by Dr. B.E. Pettit. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family is at the home of a niece, Jean Acker Hutto and her husband, Terry, 146 Shipyard Circle, Anderson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Home for Children, 110 Calvary Home, Anderson, SC 29621 or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
