SPARTA, Ga. - Rev. James Franklin Fowler, age 73, beloved husband of 55 years to Mrs. Mary D. Fowler of Black Jack Lane Sparta, GA died Saturday June 4, 2011 at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, GA. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 A. M. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Scruggs Cemetery with the Rev. Emory Anderson officiating. Rev. Fowler, a native of Marlinton, WV, was the son of the late Henry and Sidney Lee Galford Fowler. A Hancock County resident since 1990, Rev. Fowler was a retired Church of God Minister and served in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserve. Rev. Fowler was a member of Am vets and the Milledgeville Church of God. In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Roxanne Aultman, Sparta, GA, Bonnie Lee Taylor, Coshocton, OH, Angela Widner, Sparta, GA, two sons, Gerold D. Fowler, Zainsville, OH, and Victor A. Fowler, Sparta, GA, 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, three brothers, and two sisters. Friends may call at the residence. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A. M. till 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home..
