WRENS, Ga. - Mr. James Linder (Big Jim) Walden, age 67, beloved husband of the late Betty Sue Walden died May 1, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P. M. Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Wrens Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott McKinney, Dr. James M. Ford and Pastor Bryan Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in the Wrens Memorial Gardens. Mr. Walden, a native of Glascock County, GA was the son of the late Gozie M. and Jeanne Hawkins Walden. He was a Wrens resident for many years and the owner of Big Jim's Backhoe Service. Jim was a member of Wrens Baptist Church and attended the Edgehill First Church of God in Christ. Survivors include two sons, Jeff (Kristie) Walden and Andy (Angela) Walden, three grandchildren, Rachel, Adam, and Evan all of Wrens, GA, three sisters, Ogle Sammons, Edgehill, GA, Sara Annette (Glenn) Marschie, Brownsville, WI, and Ethel Newsome, Belvedere, SC, one brother, J. C. Walden, Waynesboro, GA. Mr. Walden was preceded in death by six sisters, Blanche Van Buren, Hazel McDonald, Pinkie Reames, Pauline Walden, Martha Ellen Walden, Ruth Poole, and two brothers, Eugene Walden and Jimmy Walden. Pallbearers will be Shane Holt, Cliff Johnson, Tony Reese, Clay Walden, Duane Poole, Perry Walden, Charles Walden, and Manton Walden. If so desired, the family request that memorials be made to the Edgehill First Church of God in Christ C/O Ms. Gloria Peluso P. O. Box 87 Gibson, GA 30810. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. Till the hour of service in the Sanctuary of Wrens Baptist Church.
