HARLEM, Ga. - Mrs. Violet Gay Cripps, 81, wife of Marshall Cripps, entered into rest Monday, March 21, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, March 25, 2011, at Starling Funeral Home with the Rev. George James officiating. Interment will be in the South Harlem Memorial Gardens. Survivors include her husband, Marshall Cripps; four sons Olen E. Gay, Blythe, Ralph M. Gay, Thomson, Odell Cripps, Dearing and Larry Cripps, Grovetown; four daughters Mary Finch, Augusta, Joan Burleson, Harlem, Ruth Stevens, Grovetown and Janet Ortiz, Harlem; 24 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters Beannie Chavous and Annis Hall, of Augusta; one half sister Hester Amerson, Waynesboro; two half brothers Ervin Skillman, Hephzibah and Tommy Skillman, Sardis.
