AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Delmer L. Van Dusen, 82, of Augusta, Georgia went to be with his Lord Sunday, March 6, 2011. Mr. Van Dusen served in the United States Army for twenty years, serving both in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He loved photography and working with computers. Delmer worked for Babcock(s)and(s)Wilcox for over sixteen years, where he learned ceramics. His fondness of ceramics carried over to his personal life, in which he enjoyed making various art pieces. Mr. Van Dusen was preceded in death by his parents, John Albert Van Dusen and Louise P. Dunn; and his brother, Glenn Van Dusen. He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-two years, Ola M. Van Dusen; four daughters, Janice Williams, Joan (Pat) Boudewyns, Elizabeth Christman and Catherine (Mark) Austin; seven grandchildren, Jason Rooks, Marsha Flauss, Josh and Jake Way, Sage and Connor Christman and Troy Majors; ten great-grandchildren; and extended family in California. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, March 10, 2011 in the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wally Hoyle officiating. Mr. Van Dusen's sons-in-law and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home, Patient Benefit Fund, 1101 15th Street, Augusta, Georgia 30912.
