MILLEN, Ga. - Thomas G. Harris, age 92, died Wednesday at Jenkins County Hospital. He was born in Screven County, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, a retired teacher, Asst. Principal, and Basketball Coach from the Armurchee School in Floyd County, and a Deacon of the Millen Baptist Church where he attended the Carey Thompson Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas G. and Florence Hankinson Harris, a brother, Williams Harris, and two sisters, Rebecca Harris and Carolyn Taylor. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Friday at the Millen Baptist Church with Revs. David Wheeler, Maurice Crowder, and Bernie Khaw officiating. Burial will be in the Millen Cemetery. Survivors include his three brothers, Edison (Sara Helen) Harris and Roy (Lucille) Harris of Millen, and John Raiford (Vicki) Harris of Conway, SC.; a caregiver, Sonya Gay; several nieces and nephews including, Ed (Debra) Harris, Ernie (Carol) Harris, Stephen (Misty) Harris, Tommy (Shirley) Taylor, Joan (Michael) Wagnon, Adrienne Harris, Andy Harris, and John Harris. Active Pallbearers will be Titus Waters, Ernie Harris, Stephen Harris, Tommy Taylor, Mark Taylor, William Gunn, Julian Wade, and Charlie Lanier. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of the Millen Baptist Church and members of the Carey Thompson Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to the Millen Baptist Church.
